Design & Display
The 4.7 inch HD IPS 2.5D curved display at a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution is something not every Smartphone will offer you! The LG Optimus G Pro came up last year with a 2.5D curved display and later, handsets like Lenovo S820, Xolo X1000, Nokia Lumia 1020 etc came up with the same curved display. The strong Industrial Design seems to have affected Xolo pretty much! Anyways, the good news is that the Xolo Q900T will provide you a 178-degree viewing experience and reduced refraction index. Other than this, the glass panel covering on the front end of the phone and the matte plastic at the back looks soothing to the eye and comfortable for the hands to hold.
Equipped with a 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, a PowerVR SGX544 GPU clocked at 357 MHz and 1 GB of RAM with 4 GB of internal storage makes the phone capable of handling every task you do without any lag. Apart from this, there is also an expandable memory of up to 32 GB that let you store all the stuff that your phone memory cannot!
What’s disappointing is that this handset doesn’t run on the Latest Android Operating system, but instead follows the Jelly Bean 4.2 Operating system. So, even if the curved display is a gimmick, the Android Operating system makes a stand back! But, comparing it with the Moto G, the Xolo Q900T beats it in many key areas like the Camera, which we will discuss below.
In terms of connectivity, features like 3G, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth and A-GPS are supported by this Xolo handset.
The Xolo Q900T features an 8 Megapixels Primary Shooter and a 2 Megapixels Front facing snapper to for clicking selfies and enjoying video calling. Scene detection and tuning, high dynamic, HDR, low light enhancement, face-recognition, vertical and horizontal, Panorama and Geo tagging options are supported by the rear camera of this handset. The Good news is that this Xolo handset features a better camera than the much in News, Moto G. You can go for it!
The 1800 mAh battery offers 15 hours of talk time and up to 367 hours of standby time on 2G network. It is also believed that the phone is capable of giving 60 hours of music listening.
Priced at approx. Rs.11,999, the Xolo Q900T is offering decent features at an affordable price. The other competitive products you can look up for are: Moto G, Panasonic P31 and Intex Aqua Curve.
